While Finland and Sweden have started the the process of joining NATO, Russia has begun withdrawing heavy military equipment and personnel from the unit stationed near the Finnish border in the Murmansk region, reports the Russian news outlet Agenstvo .
Satellite images show that over the past month Russia has withdrawn more than 100 units of heavy equipment from the border with Finland - this coincided with the start of Helsinki's move into the North Atlantic Alliance.
Finnish military expert Marko Eklund believes that these Russian invaders were sent to Ukraine.
